Why does the CHP exist?
First of all, the CHP was not started because there are no Christians in the other parties — there are — but party discipline in Ottawa is so restrictive that Christian Members of Parliament in the other parties are not permitted to bring their deepest personal convictions into parliamentary debates.
The Preamble to our Charter of Rights and Freedoms in the Canadian Constitution states: “Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law…”
The CHP endorses these principles. Canada was established from a Christian perspective; with principles that allow freedom of religion, free speech, honesty and integrity. Those principles created a society that has drawn people from every corner of the globe!
The CHP was created because there was a great need for a national political party that would bring back the Biblical perspectives that Canada was founded upon!
The CHP wants safe communities, a strong economy, and a secure future for our children and grandchildren. Our current government is not doing a good job of this, and a better solution is needed. The CHP is that better solution!
